Renovation of a very visible location

This garden in the Town of Queensbury was pretty dismal. Touted by the original designers and installers as a planting that would provide color and interest through the year -it did neither. Both residents and Town officials were dismayed at the results.
In 2005 colleague and friend Greg Greene and myself(with the support of town councilman Roger Boor) volunteered to renovate the garden.  We tore out all of the original plantings and replaced them with a variety of perennials and shrubs.  What a difference!  We are still fine tuning the garden adding spring flowering bulbs and more perennials but the result is a much more interesting garden.  Greg and I and the rest of the volunteers: Friends of Hovey Pond maintain the garden on a regular basis.
